Art using DNA.
We were in Ottawa yesterday for the launch of DNA11, a new enterprise begun by web expert Adrian Salamunovic and geneticist Nazim Ahmed. Using a sample of DNA that you provide with a simple kit, DNA11 will create a one-of-a-kind artwork that you can then hang up on your wall. The images are enhanced with color and filter effects and then printed on canvas using the giclee method. An extra large print was created specially for the launch for Absolut vodka, continuing Absolut's long-running art collaboration tradition that began with Andy Warhol. The resulting piece is a 4 by 15 foot light box done in pop-art style. More images in the extended entry.
