Island house featured in Met Home this month.
I saw this house a few years back when it was just a drawing in the offices of architects YH2. The house is on the Magdalen Islands, a group of small islands located in the middle of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. I've been told it's a great place to summer. The house borrows from the island house vernacular, but it's thoroughly contemporary. It's actually an addition to an existing traditional home. The goal was to make a new separate section for guests connected by a passageway.
