It's symbolic. Designer Marie Torbensdatter Hermann uses her fingers to reshape the ceramic forms she makes. So instead of a perfectly round sterile cup, there are slight imprints of the artist who made them. "My work is about the relationship between the hand of the user and the object itself", figuratively and literally. Thanks Marie!
