The anti-vase.
Design studio Grain's "vases emphasise the beauty of flowers by minimising the visual impact of the vase itself. By eliminating the unnecessary elements of the vase, more of the flowers becomes visible and the full length of the stem is displayed.". Lots of minimalist vases out there, but few integrate new functional ideas like these. The original idea was to provide the functionality of the full-height vase, water to feed the flowers + support for the flowers, but in a low-height form factor. Less vase, more flowers, great idea.

Grain's Beige Vase and Blue Vase. The "beige coloured base made of matte glazed stoneware and builds on the same idea of displaying as much of the beauty of the flowers as possible. The difference is that by catering for thick stemmed flowers only short spikes in the base of the vase are sufficient to provide the necessary support.". The Blue Vase "has a blue coloured base made of matte glazed stoneware and a fixed metal ring at the top. It has a strong square shape giving it a strong character and at the same time allowing for traditional flower arrangements.".
Grain's Wooden Vase and Aubergine Vase. The Wooden Vase "has a two piece base - an outer vessel made of wood and an inner lining of glass - complemented with a fixed metal ring at the top. While the use of wood is slightly surprising for a vase, the inner glass lining allows the Black Palmyra wood to provide a spectacular personality for the vase. This is emphasised by the rectangular shape which gives the flower arrangement an unusual shape.". The Aubegine Vase "has an aubergine coloured base made of matte glazed stoneware. It has an adjustable ring at the top made of transparent PVC and a telescopic central pole to allow for adjustment of different numbers and lengths of flowers as well as different styles of arrangement.".
