Kitchen as appliance concept.
Appliance manufacturer Whirlpool (Europe) set up and sponsored a kitchen of the future demo called In.Kitchen featuring new kitchen concepts from several designers. EQUIPMENT, created by design firm Industrial Facility, is an ‘appliance as compact kitchen’ concept. “EQUIPMENT is a twist on the notion of space and appliances, challenging the equation: luxury = larger spaces and bigger appliances. …it appears from the outside as an over-sized fridge-freezer, …rather than what consumers find contained within the unit – a small, compact kitchen.”.
