Modern Scandinavian design inspired by the 60s and 70s. Lyx is a new furniture company. Launched at the 100%Design Show in London in September 2003, Lyx’s first collection, designed by Swedes Michael Malmborg and Jonas Wannfors, is rooted in the 60s - 70s but with a 21st century twist. The product names say it all; the LightSpeaker lamp with dimmer “volume control”, serpentine Zig-Zag chair, Bongo lounge table, isometric Topografi seating and the acrylic fibre optic Kristall Chandelier. Per the website “The pieces are inspired by the traditional Scandinavian design, but makes a stronger and more luxurious statement. In short: It's more bold than blonde.”
