The Japanese minimalist version of IKEA with smaller products and better packaging. Muji, actually Mujirushi Ryohin, is an international chain store for furnishings and clothing that originated in Japan. The goods are all logo- and label-free, often made of recyclable materials in earth-tone hues of white, brown, beige, slate and silver. Though Mujirushi Ryohin means “no brand goods” in Japanese, Muji does work with name designers such as Fukazawa Naoto and Sam Hecht. The online store sells a small selection of what’s available in the offline stores, but a larger selection is available for viewing at their UK catalog website.
