Stephen Sprouse Is Back - UPDATE
by Admin1 / January 16, 2004

Sadly, Stephen Sprouse passed away on March 5th. He will be missed by all who knew his art.

New York designer and iconoclast Stephen Sprouse has created a bold new collection of drapery and upholstery for KnollTextiles. The evocative (provocative?) statements about art and culture scrawled in black indelible ink across white leather Barcelona chairs were made to draw attention to the new textiles. The actual Sprouse collection for KnollTextiles includes five upholstery and drapery fabrics:

Graffiti Camo, the Declaration of Independence scrawled on a camouflage background and Camo, Graffiti Camo's coordinate without words

Techno Tweed, an updated version of a Knoll classic, woven of fluorescent neon, tone on tone plastic tape and polyester mixture

Static Screen and Digital Airwave, two drapery fabrics inspired by random static patterns on a blank TV screen
